The new Global Game Changers Heart Badge series on YouTube helps children make that connection. Each video introduces one of GGC’s twelve Heart Badges, explains why the cause matters, shares attainable ways to help, and invites children to consider a simple but powerful question: Is this badge my HEART?
The videos bring the Global Game Changers Superpower Equation to life: MY TALENT + MY HEART = MY SUPERPOWER!® Children discover that their heart is the cause they care about, and that they can combine that heart with their own talents to Ignite Good!®
Each Heart Badge video gives children enough context to understand the cause without stopping at awareness. The story moves from “Why does this matter?” to “What can I do?” Along the way, children hear from familiar GGC characters, meet a young person who has taken action, and receive an Ignite Good mission they can begin themselves.
In the Animals Heart Badge video, for example, children learn that caring for animals includes pets, wildlife, farm animals, endangered species, and the creatures in their own backyards. Krumi insists that animals do not need help, but the video pushes back: pets depend on people, wildlife depends on healthy habitats, and both depend on thoughtful choices.
Children then meet Zeke, a real-life Global Game Changer who combined his talent for drawing with his heart for endangered animals. He created a cheetah comic filled with facts and used Halloween as an opportunity to raise awareness and support the Cheetah Conservation Fund. His example makes the equation concrete: a child’s interests and abilities can become tools for service.
The video closes with ideas children can act on, such as making a birdfeeder, and an Ignite Good! mission.
Use the matching video as an easy-lift introduction to each GGC Heart Badge unit. It can establish background knowledge, introduce key language, and give students a real-world example before they begin the unit’s lessons, projects, or activities.
After viewing, invite a quick response: What did you notice? What problem was the featured superhero trying to solve? Which talent did they use? What is one action our class could take? The video gives everyone a shared starting point while leaving the deeper exploration to the full unit.
